It was with impressions like these that our big event “The Wisdom of the Poem – an innovative approach” was concluded on Friday 18 September 2015 in London.

The event was held at the Hellenic Centre to a room packed full with about 80 attendees, Greeks of diaspora and members of the general public.

The audience was welcomed by the President of Omilos Eksipiretiton, Mr Andreas Dritsas who opened the evening by saying, “The powers of the Spirit are scattered in rays of light. To light up a torch you have to concentrate the beams of light and the best way to do that is Poetry”.

The head of Megas Seirios publications, Ms Paraskevi Kostopetrou presented the topic of the evening, Omilos’ method for the analysis of poetry, followed by the analysis of poems by K. Kavafis and A. Sikelianos. A presentation which everyone listened to with undiminished interest.

Due to our new collaboration with the cultural organisation “The Hellenic Centre” in London, we are holding our first event in their premises on Friday 18th September 2015.

“With the title “The Wisdom of the Poem: K.P. Kavafis/A. Sikelianos – an innovative approach”, Omilos Eksipiretiton, a non-profit spiritual centre based in Athens and a society member of Hellenic Centre in London, will be presenting a new philosophical approach of poetry, honouring it as the highest Art of Life, on Friday 18 September 2015.

Within every creation, every work of art, every human being, our life itself, lays hidden wisdom and knowledge that can bring us spiritual and mental uplifting and make us see and experience the infinite, even in what seems to be limited.

Therefore, the Poets as well, have the gift to unite with the Word, to reach sources transparent and clear; to create their myth with symbols and through them to teach. And every myth, every creation of work becomes a small Universe that evolves inside the soul of the reader, helping him along his way to find his pure spiritual nature.

On 15th of May 2015 we said our final goodbye to the President of Omilos, writer and spiritual healer Mrs Klairi Lykiardopoulou. Below we quote the speech of the Heads of Omilos:

“Through words we describe what we feel, yet this moment words are not enough.

Moved by your sudden leaving, overwhelmed by your love, everybody with no exception, is here to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your unconditional offer, for 35 years, of support, knowledge, relief, healing. To express our infinite respect and to state to you –because we know that this is what mattered to you the most- that we will carry on the Work of the Master; the Work which you basically structured through the great work of writing books and essays, giving lectures and having conversations; through offering selfless Service to anyone in need and mostly through the establishment of Spiritual Healing.
